Our Story
A Care Above Therapy Services was founded in 2022 by Kate Brownstein, a Speech-Language Pathologist with over a decade of experience. Kate’s vision was simple: to make high-quality speech therapy accessible to everyone, no matter their unique needs. Kate understands that speech therapy should fit the client, not the other way around. She strives to match clients with the right clinicians based on needs and strengths, not just scheduling.
It took years of experience in a variety of settings to build a practice that prioritizes quality care above expectations.

Our team has worked with clients across the lifespan in a variety of settings, including private practice, schools, early intervention, long-term care, and international settings. Together, we bring experience supporting a broad range of speech, language, cognitive, communication, and voice needs. Our diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives allow us to approach each client as an individual and tailor therapy to their unique goals, needs, and circumstances.

Kate Brownstein M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Kate is the owner and founder of A Care Above Therapy Services. Since earning her ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in 2013, she has worked with clients across a variety of settings, including long-term care, private practice, schools, and early intervention. She has spent over a decade supporting people with cognitive and speech-related conditions, providing gender-affirming voice therapy, and working with clients both domestically and abroad. In addition to her clinical work, Kate is an international speaker on speech and language disorders, sharing her knowledge and experience with audiences across the field.

Anne Baker M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Anne is a skilled speech pathologist with diverse experience ranging from outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health and school settings. She is experienced with gender-affirming voice care, receptive-expressive language, articulation, Augmented Alternative Communication (AAC), cognitive, and swallowing treatment. Her passion as a speech therapist focuses on inclusion and increasing quality of life for her clients and their families. Anne is licensed in Missouri, Maryland, and DC and has held her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) since May of 2023. She is dedicated to her clients success and previous patrons say how engaging and easy she is to work with.
